Serving To Grow
Summary of "Caring For God's People"

The Caring for God’s People manual is a total-package-training in pastoral care. It generally presents God as the One who cares for His people but teaches the Christian leaders that they are God’s agents of showing this care to others. The topics covered include Visiting in Christ’s Name, Crisis Visits, Regular Visits, The Pastor as Teacher, Comfort, Guidance, Healing, Reconciliation and Pastoral Care in Times of Crises. When a Christian leader goes through this training he will interact with other Christian leaders and a lot of Bible passages guiding him and equipping him to do this ministry. This includes discussions on the five (5) steps to good listening, the seven (7) purposes served by regular visitation, the four (4) steps in apprentice training, a list of ways to comfort others, four (4) guides to giving guidance, a list of Biblical principles in the healing ministry and the four (4) things involved in the practice of healing, the seven (7) steps to reconciliation, and the three (3) ways to respond to crises. In all 13 lessons, the Christian leaders will make an action plan that will allow them to practice what they have learned from the Scriptures and with one another, just like how the Lord Jesus challenged His hearers not only to hear His words but to practice them.
