PRESIDENT OF TIMOTHY LEADERSHIP TRAINING INSTITUTE

This position is an extraordinary opportunity for someone to give leadership in an expanding and young organization, the Timothy Leadership Training Institute (TLTI).  TLTI has provided adult training programs for thousands of church leaders in new and growing congregations in over 48 countries throughout the world.  Focus of training is on reaching leaders with minimal to moderate literacy/education levels, and who find it difficult to access and / or afford formal theological education.  The successful candidate will have the appropriate combination of commitment to the Gospel, cross-cultural vision, educational leadership, business acumen, fund-raising ability, management expertise, interpersonal skills and experience.

TLTI MISSION AND VISION
The mission of Timothy Leadership Training Institute is to train pastors, evangelists and lay leaders world-wide for the purpose of building viable and healthy congregations and communities.  Our roots began in 1994 with the Van Andel mission institute at Calvin Theological Seminary.  Later, Project Afrika began in 1997 with workshops.  Over time, the call for Timothy Leadership Training has grown as has the number of countries where training is taking place. Essential Expertise and Experience
*  Ability to raise substantial funds for Christian ministries from a variety of sources
*  Excellent oral, written and information technology skills
*  Effective in cross-cultural communication and contextualization
*  Strong analytical and strategic planning skills
*  Demonstrated ability to move and grow a lean organization
*  Demonstrated ability to partner, collaborate and network for achieving goals
*  Basic financial management to ensure financial health (balanced budget)
*  Experience and skills in building locally sustainable training programs

Education and Knowledge
*  Knowledge in organizational development and complex management tools
*  Preferably holds a Master’s degree level of education in a relevant field
*  Understands adult and non-traditional educational modalities that achieve transformation in learning and
  leadership development
*  International and cross-cultural experience highly desirable

Additional Important Considerations
*  Willingness and ability to travel extensively around the world
*  Prudent risk-taker in advancing Christ’s Kingdom world-wide
*  Good health; high energy and a healthy, balanced self-confidence
*  Relocation to work in West Michigan (if needed)
*  Legally permitted to work in USA and satisfactory background check

THE SEARCH AND SELECTION PROCESS

The search committee for this appointment consists of six current members of the TLTI Board of Directors.  A very deliberate, systematic and thorough process for reviewing all candidates will be undertaken.  Candidates reaching the final stages of the process will be interviewed comprehensively by the search committee.  Strict confidentiality will be maintained until the preferred candidate is selected.
