Serving God in Work and Worship
How is productive work connected at all with worship? Does being employed have anything to do with actually serving God?
TLT searches the Scriptures to discover the link between purposeful employment of its congregational members and the growth/ success of the local church.
“In the beginning,” we find that God, Himself, demonstrates for us the connection between work and worship. As He gave meaning to the lives of Adam and Eve by providing for them meaningful activity, the lessons of team work and productivity resulted. It pleased God and he accepted this as an offering of obedience, as He does today.
The TLT training in Work and Worship begins in the Garden of Eden and leads the participant into considering how work influences the way we “meet” with God, honor God, and how we can come together in corporate and private praise that pleases God.
The goal is to help congregations and their members to worship with praise, listening, confession, gratitude and work. The congregants will come to realize that God is honored by all forms of legitimate work, that as they work with proper attitude, they worship.
The capstone activity is a six month action plan that includes SMART goals that will change the worship and work of the congregation where these action plans and goals are applied.
